To the Family of Ellis,
He was a very special person. He loved to sing the Great Speckled Bird for me. Ellis was so proud of his family and loved each one very much! I'm sure he is having a big reunion with loved ones that went on before him. May you find comfort in knowing he is in a better place.
I feel priviledged to have known Ellis and enjoyed him being at Golden Years.
God Bless You,
Jody & Misty Bohn

Charlie, Donna and family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. Charlie, your Daddy is in Heaven right now with our Lord. Rejoice in that knowledge. You will see him again someday. I'm sure he's swapping fish tales as we speak. If we can do anything, please let us know.
Love,
Peter & Catherine Trevena

Even tho I had only a short time to visit with Uncle Ellis while there in April, he still had the same smile. You could still see the love in his heart for his family and his Lord. He is so proud of all of you and his faith. He has gone to be with his family and I know that my mother (Katherine) will happy to see him. As a child I remember going fishing with him and my Dad. Uncle Ellis always had donuts for me.
Know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Love To All

I was very close to this person and yes he was a person. He was very special and his humor was great. I feel as this world was done a favor by having this human bieng on this earth. I will miss him dearly and he held on as long as he could and then some. I know that he will be truly missed. I love you always.

For all the stories you shared
And all the hooks we aired
You brought a smile to my face
So many times they can't be traced
For your time has now came
From now on every fish in your name
Love, Josh

There are so many memories of my grandpa that I can't list them all
He was always smiling and telling his fish stories. And loving his family. I spent alot of time with him and my grandmother all the years that I was growing up. The best memory I will treasure is him being at my 40th birthday. And dancing with me at my mom' wedding.
I will never forget his smile. And his warm heart.
Love your oldest granddaughter...

I feel so blessed that after so many years apart, I was able to be reunited with Uncle Ellis and my wonderful family. My childhood memories of him were fun. But the one I will hold closest to my heart was the love he held for his family and the Lord. I thank God for allowing Uncle Ellis to be on this earth so long and touch so many lives. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve. It has been many years since I have seen Uncle Ellis. That will be a regret I will carry forever.I regret that I will not be able to attend his service on Wednesday. Again accept my condolences.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
