GAEBEL, Frederick H. "Sam" age 57 of Somerville passed away at his residence after a hard-fought battle with leukemia on Thursday, June 23, 2011. He was born in Hamilton on June 9, 1954 the son of Gordon Joseph and Selma E. (Hamilton) Gaebel. Fred was a masonry contractor who operated a masonry business with his wife and sons. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed sharing produce with neighbors and friends. Fred was known for his quick wit, faith, and devotion to family and friends. He enjoyed marksmanship and his pet horse, Randy. On February 20, 1975 in Hamilton he married his best friend and life long love, Linda Buck. He is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, Jason (Stacie) Gaebel and John (Erin) Gaebel; three grandchildren, Justin Clark Gaebel, Jeremy Lee Gaebel, and Ricky Haskell; three siblings, Gordon "Duffy" Gaebel, Deb (Bart) Serwe, and Lorie Garcia; his mother-in-law, Betty "Grandma" Buck-Blount; in-laws Roberta Woods, Jan (Rich) Hainzlsperger, Mike (Elaine) Buck, Rick Buck and Lauren (Bill) Riley; beloved and cherished nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and many, many friends and neighbors. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Monday June 27th at Brookville Road Baptist Church, 1060 Oxford Pike, Bath, Indiana 47010. Cremation has been held.
