News Death Notice
BLAKE Sr., James Robert Age 84 of Ft Myers Florida, formerly of Ross, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday August 4, 2016 at Hope Hospice of Ft Myers. Jim was born May 28, 1932 to Daniel and Amanda (Isom) Blake in Ashland Kentucky. He was a member of the Snow Masonic Lodge No 193, F. & A.M of Harrison, Ohio and Shirts and Skirts and Venus and Mars Square Dance Clubs. Jim enjoyed square dancing, golfing, spending time at Plantation Estates events and his family. On June 20,, 1951 he married Loretta "Sis" Allison and together they spent 51 years together. He took pride in his work at the Fernald Uranium facility, Gulf Refinery and the State of Ohio as a stationary Engineer (boiler operator). He is survived by a very special friend, Phyllis Carter and his children: Stephanie (Millard) Sauter Singleton of Crab Orchard, KY, Marilyn Kay (Butch Bowman) Pierson of Ross, OH, James (Janice) R. Blake, Jr, of Ross, OH and Lisa (Kenny) Chandler, of Nashville, TN. His legacy leaves behind 8 grand-children who he loved so much: Josh (Jenny) Sauter, Erin Sauter, Nicholas Blake Skelton; Jennifer (Tom) Economacos, Allison (Glenn) Sheppard, James N. Blake; Daniel Blake-Conley, Brittany (Wayne) Blake Densmore, 12 great grand-children and 1 great, great granddaughter. Visitation will be at Charles C Young Funeral Home, 4032 Hamilton Cleves Rd, Ross, OH on Friday August 12th from 10:00am until noon and a service will follow at 12:00. Burial will be in Venice Cemetery, Ross, OH. If desired, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3229 Burnet Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45229 or Snow Lodge #193, PO Box 362 Harrison, OH 45030 or Casana-Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America www.spraxi-kids.org.
