James B. Greeley

1929 - 2017

GREELEY, James B. Age 88, of Piqua, went home to be with the Lord at 2:30 P.M. on October 20, 2017 at Piqua Manor Nursing Home. He was born in Piqua on October 2, 1929 to the late William and Alice (Enyert) Greeley. On April 28, 1954 in Botkins, he married Lila M. Fullenkamp. She survives. James is also survived by two sons: Gerald P. Greeley, Dayton and Tim Greeley, Sidney; two daughters and son-in-law: Cindy Sears, Piqua and Peggy and Jim Dunn, Paris, KY; five grandchildren: Brad (Jenna) Deloye, Riverside, CA, Jason Deloye, Texas, Rebecca Dunn, Paris, KY, Jenifer Sears, Piqua and Eric Sears, Piqua; and Seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Jane Greeley and Bernadine Alexander. James graduated from Piqua Catholic High School. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Piqua. James retired from Hobart after 38 years as an inspector in Quality Control. He proudly served his Country as a member of the US Army during the Korean War. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday October 25, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Piqua, with the Rev. Fr. Thomas Bolte as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua with full military honors by the Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5-7 P.M. at MELCHER-SOWERS FUNERAL HOME, Piqua. A prayer service will be held Tuesday at 5 P.M. at the funeral home.
