Jim was a very faithful and dependable man and his work to assit the residents at Woodridge was an inspiration to all. We will miss him here and yet know we will see him again over there in eternity with our Lord Jesus. He will be missed by us all!

Dear Friends,
I count it an honor to be able to share with you the deep affection I had for your father. When I learned that God had called him home, I immediately thought of words the pastor had said at my Dad's funeral service, "Wayne Reynolds was a gentle man." Likewise, your father was a gentle man. He did not push himself to the foreground, always helping out in a servant ministry as he patiently parked wheel chairs and found seats for all who attended the worship services on Sunday afternoon at Woodridge. He passed out hymn books to all who entered and thoroughly enjoyed the singing of the residents and the special music and messages of guests.
When I arrived at Woodridge two years ago, I had ulcers on my leg and really feared that I might lose that leg. Jim never failed to come to me and ask what progress the doctor was making and to let me know that He was praying for me.
At a Bible Study, one of the men said, "I sense an air of heaviness in this room," and he was right. We were all missing Jim, but I would not call him back if I could because he is with the Lord whom he served. One day I will be reunited with Jim and we will have eternity to enjoy our friendship. I know his heart's desire would be that his daughters and other family members would be there with him also.
I pray that God will comfort your heart as only He can. In the Psalms we read, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." and again, in I Thessalonians, we are told not to grieve as the world grieves, but that we might have assurance that though our loved one has passed from our sight, he is present with the Lord and we should comfort one another with these words.
Love,
Kathy

I met Jim at Manor Care through Vivian Ratliff. He was always pleasant & a help to all. A favorite Bible verse of mine is Psalm 116:15: "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." I'm sure that Chester Ratliff will be talking with Jim many times! We are all sad at Jim's passing, but the Lord welcomed him home to Heaven as His child! We'll all miss Jim! May the Lord comfort & bring good memories of Jim to you every day!

I have only known Jim for the past four years. I would preach at Woodridge every so often. Jim was always there and always helping others to come in for service. He was always friendly and encouraged me after I would preach. He will be greatly missed.

I have known Jim for more than 15 years and loved and respected him all that time. He was a perfect gentleman, a thoughtful and caring person. He loved his family, spoke often of each of you. He was my partner in the work at Woodridge Retirement Home and will be sorely missed there. The people loved him and are grieved that they will not see him any more in this life. Also, the members of the Tuesday morning Bible study at North Fairfield Baptist will miss him very much. However we are looking forward to seeing him again in Heaven and I know he will greet us when we arrive! May God bless and comfort you, Lynn, Lynda, John, Nicholas and Ian. With love to each of you,

To the family: We are in Fl. for the winter so we will not be there to share this sudden heartache with you as we would like.We all go back many, many years together. Our hearts are breaking with you during this time. We were so lucky to have you girls and your mom in our lives so long ago and very fortunate to be able to make such a good accquaintance with Jim in the past few years. He was such a welcome addition to our Tues. Bible study and our Senior Adult activities and was so proud of you. It will be strange to not see him there when we return.
Just try to feel our arms about you as they have been so many times and know that our Heavenly Father holds you even closer. He will be your strength and refuge now. You girls stay close and keep in touch with each other.
Jobie hugs and Christian love from a former "mom and dad". Luv Ya's bunches. B&P

My husband Gene, was a good friend of Jim's since their teen years. They both worked at Armco. They went to the track together, and in later years took short fishing trips to a nearby lake in Kentucky.
Jim was a wonderful encourager to Gene and a fun person to talk to.
Gene will miss him greatly.

Dear Lynn and Lynda,
Many thoughts and prayers are being lifted up for you and your families at this time of incredible loss. Your Father is at rest now, safe in the presence of our Lord and Saviour, Christ Jesus. I pray it will comfort you to know that many lives have been made better by having your Father in their lives. He was a fine gentleman, who demonstrated great kindnesses and sensitivity wherever he went. We will miss him very much but we look forward to the time we will see him again in heaven. Truly, Heaven's gain was the world's loss. May God bless you and comfort you.
