DAVIS, Jeremy Eugene "Gene" 37, of Wellington, died of cardiac arrest on Monday, September 15, 2014. Gene was born on April 19, 1977 in Hamilton to Gene Davis and Jeanne (Smith) Baker. He was a long time resident of Wellington where he lived since age 13. Gene was a 1995 graduate of Black River High School. Gene enjoyed many activities including fishing and hunting on the family horse farm where he lived. He was proud of his sports collectables including a signed game ball given to him by members of the Cleveland Indians. He was a Cleveland Browns fan and also spent many hours watching NASCAR and WWE Pro-wrestling with his friends and brothers. Gene was also an avid movie and entertainment buff with an impressive collection and memory of movie trivia. "Geno" was a true hero to us all. If you knew him you were better for it. Inspired by his strong will and humbled by his endurance to stay optimistic through his many life challenges. He will forever be in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Gene is survived by his mother, Jeanne Baker, of Wellington; father, Gene Davis, of Millersburg; brothers, Thome Davis, of Wellington, Jeff Davis, of Middletown, Joseph Davis, of Hamilton, and his twin brother, Jason "Matt" Davis, of Crossville, TN. He is also survived by his grandfather, David Smith and his caretakers and dear friends, Justin Yates, Carrie Benton, and Shay Lorentz. Gene was preceded in death by his grandmother, Joan Smith. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, September 18, from 5-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, where services will be held on Friday beginning at 4 p.m. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 22, at Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton.
