Joel CROUCH Obituary

News Death Notice

CROUCH, Joel Matthew age 50, of Middletown, was born December 2, 1963 in Middletown, Ohio. He went to spend eternity with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on September 5, 2014. Joel loved the Lord so much, and he loved to praise and glorify Him. Joel started singing gospel songs when he was a small child. By the time he reached his teens, he was singing in various churches, playing the piano and guitar and composing beautiful gospel songs. Joel was very talented. The Lord blessed him with a beautiful gift. Joel was a very friendly person. He made friends easily, and he never saw a stranger. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was always a generous person who was willing to share with others. He believed in giving. Joel enjoyed cooking, and he was a very good cook. He enjoyed feeding people, and of course, he enjoyed the compliments he received about his culinary skills. Joel was also an avid reader, and he preferred literature which was spiritually beneficial. He loved the Holy Bible. When he was nineteen years of age, he attended Holmes Bible College for several months, and he has fond memories of the time he spent there. When Joel was nine months old he started calling me "Mommoy". I am his mother, and I still enjoy hearing him call me "Mommoy". We love Joel so much, and we miss him so much! We know that he is in a better place now, but we are devastated over his death. There is a void which cannot be filled. We are looking forward to that wonderful blessed time when we are going to be together again. Although Joel is a fifty year old man, he will always be my blue-eyed baby boy, and I will always be his "Mommoy". Joel was preceded in death by his father, Ollie Lee Crouch, his brother, Bishop Daniel Lee Crouch, his paternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Crouch, and his maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Sylvia Patrick. He is survived by his mother, Mildred Ann (Patrick) Crouch; his daughter, Ashley Erinn Crouch; his brother, Timothy David (Pamela) Crouch; three nieces; one nephew; three grand nieces and three grand nephews. Visitation will be Monday, September 15, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, followed by services at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Larry Hayes officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery, Middletown, Ohio. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown. My thoughts, prayers and love are with Joel's family and friends, especially Ruthie Little and Sue Ann Shockey and their immediate families who have been tremendously impacted by this. I met Joel when Sue Ann brought him to our home in Middletown, he was a really cool guy .. her best friend. You will definitely be missed by so many people who love you Joel. May you RIP now with no more pain. You be that guardian angel that watches over my cousin, her best friend (your cousin), and their families.

Cuz, I have so many memories it would be impossible to pick a favorite and share. You were like a little brother to me. You were a rare jewel, you had an amazing love for people and God, you were honest and quick to forgive others. You introduced me to my now best friend over 33 years ago...I remember you saying "you will like Sue, if you give it time I think you two will hit it off" LOL....you were absolutely correct! You had so many talents, your music being one among many. I am glad I was able to speak to you the other day and tell you how much I loved you, and hearing your usual reply "I love you too cuz", I will so miss hearing that from you, but I keep it in my heart. I am so glad you are at peace now with no pain. You are Home! I will so miss your sense of humor, you could always find something funny in almost every situation to lighten the load of those around you, even when you were in so much pain and hurt yourself. Keep em laughin in Heaven cuz!
