John Browning Obituary


News Death Notice

BROWNING, Reverend John M. 88, of Morrow, died Monday November November 23, 2009. Born on December 26, 1920 in Lee County KY., to Wilson and Hallie Browning (Hogan). He served his country during WWII in the US Army. He was the owner and operator of Browning Brothers Inc in South Lebanon with his brother Ben Browning for 32 years and also worked with his brother Walker Browning until his death in 1967. He was a life long farmer and helped build several churches in Warren County. A member of the Morrow Masonic F & AM, the Royal Arch Masons Chapter 143, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite in Cincinnati, the Syrian Shriners and he was appointed a Kentucky Colonel. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Verneda Browning in 2004. three brothers, and one sister. Survivors include his two sons, John Rolin Browning of Ripley, OH and Daniel Lee (Linda) Browning of Morrow, one brother, Hoover Browning of Beverly Hills, FL, three sisters, Cleo Brandenburg of Morystown, OH, Juanita Blankenship of Lebanon, Revilla (Dick) Villers of Lebanon, grandchildren, Corina Lee (Mark) Bowers, John (Mary) Rolin Browning JR, Mary Beth (John Paul) Campbell, Daniel Lee (Lori Kaiser) Browning II, Hallie (Kevin) McCluskey, Lissa Browning, great grandchildren, Rhianna Campbell, Sierra Campbell, Kylee McCluskey, Kevin Taylor, Stephanie Miller, Julian Bowers, Logan Browning and great great grandchildren, Josiah Miller, Samuel, Noah, and Grace Rains. Visitation, Friday November 27, 2009 from 6-730 PM with Masonic Service at 730 PM. Funeral service will be Saturday November 28, 2009 at 11 AM, all at the First Baptist Church in South Lebanon. Interment follows in Deerfield Cemetery. Memorials requested to the Shriners Childrens Hospital. Arrangements by the Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon.
