Family-Placed Obituary

GRAY, Letcher Age 88 of Hamilton passed away in Chapel Hill Nursing Center, Canal Fulton, Ohio on Monday, December 19, 2005 at 7:10 AM. He was born in Mills, Kentucky on February 4, 1917 the son of Ben and Margaret (Davis) Gray. He was a member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, a veteran of World War II with the United States Army from 1941 to 1945 and was employed in the accounting department of Champion International for 35 years, retiring in 1981. On November 20, 1942 in Richmond, Indiana he was married to Opal Durbin, and she preceded him in death in 2002. He is survived by two sons, Letcher Jr. and his wife Diane Gray of Tonawanda, New York and Dwayne and his wife Susan Gray of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; one daughter, Patricia and her husband Bob Lockhart of Akron, Ohio; one sister, Zona Warren of Toledo, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Letcher III, Melissa, Jeff, Mandy, Brad, Allison, Peter, Andrew, and Kate; and four great-grandchildren, Justin, Megan, Dillon, and Joshua. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Fred and Slusher Gray; and six sisters, Arbutis Gray, Axie Palmer, Ethel Hammons, Marjorie McCollum, Kelsey May, and Irene Cook. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church on Friday, December 23, 2005 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Mike Pucke, Celebrant. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Memorials may be made to St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church.
