Lorene McDOWELL Obituary
News Death Notice
McDOWELL, Lorene Anna Sahli 90, of Orangeburg died Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the Regional Medical Center. Mrs. McDowell was born Feb. 2, 1922, a daughter of the late Emil Karl and Francess Ball Sahli. She graduated from high school in East Bernstadt, Kentucky. She was a homemaker, an accomplished artist and gardener and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a long-time member of the Lindenwald Methodist Church in Hamilton, Ohio. She was the widow of Wandon Harold McDowell and was predeceased by her brother, Karl Sahli and a great-grandson, Wade Ballew, III. Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Emory of Orangeburg; granddaughter Nicole (Wade) Ballew of Orangeburg and grandson Khristopher (Melissa) Emory of Hamilton, Ohio; and great-grandchildren Ethan and Brayden Emory and Lauren and Jackson Ballew. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Please sign the families' online guestbook at www.dukesharleyfuneralhome.com. Khris, Nicole & Wanda, I remember you coming to Ohio for the summer when we where kids; and we would spend it all in her pool. Great times, your grandmother was a great, caring, wonderful woman. She was always so patient and passive with us running in and out of the house wet and dirty. I have to say she was the nicest person I had on my whole paper route. She will be truly missed. my family and I will be thinking of you all, our thoughts and prayers will be with you.
