News Death Notice
HURLBURT, II, Dr. Omer C. Dedicated physician; beloved husband of Marlene for 47 years; devoted and cherished father of Mary Ade (Eli) Fillios, Omer III (Theresa) Hurlburt, Peg (Todd) Lemmel, John (Amy) Hurlburt, Michael (Jodi) Hurlburt and Kathy (Dan) Likos; loving and proud grandfather of eighteen grandchildren; dear brother of Barry (Mary) Hurlburt and Peggy Lockwood, both of Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Hurlburt practiced family medicine in Middletown from 1964 until his retirement in 2001. He always expressed his sincere gratitude for the many patients who entrusted their care to him over his 37 years of practice. Every person was special to him. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 11:00 am at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Father John Civille and Monsignor Paul Metzger as celebrants. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hurlburt Family Scholarship at Bishop Fenwick High School, 4855 State Route 122, Franklin, Ohio 45005 OR - St. Vincent dePaul Society, c/o Holy Family Parish, 201 Clark Street, Middletown, Ohio 45042. Dr. Hurlburt healed more than physical symptoms. He could make his patients feel like a million dollars--full of hope, comfort, and expectation. He always took time to listen.

I want to offer my sympathy to the Hurlburt family. I am sorry that I did not know that this special person had passed away. I would loved to have said "goodbye". We shared many hours in the medical staff leadership together. We also spent several hours together traveling to various leadership meetings. He shared a retirement story with me that I tell on a regular basis. He was a special person that I admired. He will be missed!!!!

Condolences to the Hurlburt family. I worked for the Dr. Hulburt II & the III for a short time. During that time, Dr. H was wonderful to me, very patient and taught me many things about the medical field. He loved his family and he loved his patients. I know he will be missed.

I went to Dr.Hurlburt as a child and continue to go to his son to this day after his retirement.
What a wonderful doctor he was, my mother to this day tells the story of when I was messing around on the exam table as a child and would not sit still and he smacked me on the behind,she thought that was so funny. My entire family went to him and continue to this day with his son. He was such a kind and caring man and always took real good care of you , he will be greatly missed.
