Opal SALYER Obituary


News Death Notice

SALYER, Opal age 85, of Middletown, Ohio, went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 20, 2012 in Bryson City, North Carolina. She was born November 12, 1926 in Pomeroyton, Kentucky and lived most of her adult life in Middletown. Opal was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She took great joy in serving the Lord, her family and her church. She was a member of the First Church of God and most recently The Community Church at Mayfield. Preceding her in death were her parents, Ewell and Virgie (Peck) Ledford and one sister, Bonnie Perry. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Wayne W. Salyer; three sons, Greg Salyer, wife Jeanie of Bryson City, North Carolina; Tom Salyer of Franklin, Ohio and Mick Salyer, wife Sheila of Middletown, Ohio; six grandchildren, Chris Salyer, Angie Salyer McDonald, Amanda Salyer Langhorne, Matthew Salyer, Mark Salyer and Cory Salyer; thirteen great grandchildren; one sister, Marie Hatton; two brothers, Beckham Ledford and Garry Ledford; and a host of extended family and dear friends. Visitation will be Friday, July 27, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the First Church of God, 1000 East Ave., Monroe, Ohio, followed by services at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Terry Ball and Pastor Rick Woodward officiating. Interment will be at North Monroe Cemetery, Monroe, Ohio. Arrangements by Herr-Rigg Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown.
