Peggy Hartman Obituary
News Death Notice
HARTMAN, Peggy C. age 72, of Trenton, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2010 unexpectedly at her residence. She was born September 19, 1937 in Cincinnati, OH. She was a teacher in the Middletown Schools for 3 years, a volunteer for Hospice of Middletown for 11 years and also a special writer for Edgewood This Week. Peggy was an active member of Mt. Olivet United Presbyterian Church, a member of Middletown Historical and Trenton Historical Societies and member of Miami Valley Book Club. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Henry and Marcella (Morris) Wilson; father-in-law, Walter A. Hartman. Peggy is survived by her husband of 55 years, James E. Hartman; daughters, Janice Hartman, Lori Hartman , Julie (Mike) Sullivan; son, William (Dawn) Hartman; grandchildren, Jonathan, Amy, Allison, Jessica, Sarah; step-sister, Eleanor Shonting; mother-in-law, Ruby Hartman; special cousins, Connie Wigger, Lois Feix, Sandy Ratliff; uncle, Merritt (Dottie) Morris; special friends, Penny and Pepper. Visitation will be held Friday, June 25, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church with Pastor Chuck Testas officiating. Interment will be at Fairmound Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, 508 West State Street, Trenton, OH 45067 or Hospice of Middletown, 1131 Manchester Avenue, Middletown, OH 45042. The loss of a loved one is one of the most difficult times in our lives. We are thinking of you and offer our deepest condolences for your loss. We know Peggy meant the world to you and that you will struggle to understand her passing. Let her beautiful memories keep you strong.
My favorite memory of Peggy will always be "Edgewood This Week". I know how hard she worked on that and always looked forward to Thursdays when the new edition would come out.

So many wonderful memories of Peggy--picnics at Houston woods and birthday parties,and pizza parties. We had our great trip to Australia one October with the beautiful cherry blossoms in bloom. Our families have known each other over 40 years. Love,

Dear Mr. Hartman, Janice, Lori, Julie and Bill,
Words seem so inadequate in expressing my sorrow at the news of Mrs. Hartman’s death. Her genuine warmth and caring attitude will always be things I hold most dear and cherish in my heart. I am reminded of an old saying that goes “When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.” Please know that while I can’t be with you in person, my prayers are that God sustain you in the coming days and weeks ahead and for those wonderful memories you have of your mom and wife will truly be treasured.

To the family of Peggy Hartman,
I am so sorry for your loss. Many of you I have met but know your father best. Peggy was a great person in all respects. I admired her upbeat attitude and devotion to Hospice of Middletown, where we first met. I re-remember the surprise party Bill gave for Dawn at our clubhouse in Springboro, the enthusiasm Peggy had for Maine and the many summers they rented from us. I remember the happy times the four of us had together. I remember happily their 50th wedding anniversary.
Peggy was a great friend, devoted to her family and friends. She will be sorely missed.
