News Death Notice

ROBERTS, Ralph R. "Wolfie" Age 57, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 10:35 a.m. at Atrium Medical Center, where he had been a patient for 9 days. He was born September 10, 1950 in Middletown, Ohio and lived here all his life. He served in the U.S. Army with the 25th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was employed at Armco Steel for 27 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3458 and the American Legion Post 218. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ray and Esther Loraine (Norvell) Roberts; his companion, Alice Louise Tester in 1992; and an infant sister, Billie Jo Roberts. He is survived by one son, Lloyd Ray Roberts and Tammy, Middletown, Ohio; four step-sons, William Danny Tabor, Ronald Jason Nickel, Edward Allen Pelfrey and Robert Tester, Jr., and Jennifer; two step-daughters, Joanna Michelle Tester and Anthony, and Shawna Caroline Roth and Todd; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Deborah Lucille Phillabaum and Richard, all of Middletown. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 12, 2008 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Hope United Methodist Church, 3642 Shaker Road, Franklin, Ohio, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Reverend Daniel K. Dawson officiating. Interment at Butler County Memorial Park. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown.
