Rick GEHRON Obituary


News Death Notice

GEHRON, Rick Robert Age 71 of Middletown passed away on Monday September 14, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born to the late Richard and Carrie (Woodard) Gehron in Germantown, OH. Rick graduated from Germantown High School in 1963, he was an owner, trainer, and driver for harness racing and for 45 years he enjoyed spending time at the track with his family. Rick was also a member of the Armco Triangles Softball team where he won the World Softball MVP and is in the softball hall of fame. In 2002 he retired from AK Steel and became an avid golfer. Along with his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his son Tommy Rick Gehron, and 2 brothers Ray and Cecil Gehron. He is survived by his wife Teriesa; son Teddy Robert Gehron; daughter Terrie (Jim) Smiley; brothers David (Loretta) and Fred (Karen) Gehron; sisters Evelyn Smith, Rosemary Stevens, and Anne (John Caserta) Weaver; 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 11:00am at the Arpp & Root Funeral Home, 29 N. Main St. Germantown with Chuck Purvis and Pastor Elmo Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-8 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice Care of Middletown, 3909 Central Ave. Middletown, OH 45044. Online condolences can be made at www.arpprootfh.com.
