My memories of Mr. Bogan begin with him singing with my parents in the U Presby Church choir. When I was too young to leave home alone, my parents took me with them to choir practice. I remember Mr. Bogan's signature smile and his encouragement to work hard on my homework while Mr. Moore led the choir in rehearsal. Always being the educator, Mr. Bogan would pat my shoulder and ask how my studies were coming. He made time for small acts that will be remembered. Those of us who knew him are blessed.

Dear Bob and family,
My deepest condolence to you all. I have always thought highlly of your parents and was sadden when Michael emailed me about your dad's passing. Your parents encouragement was one reason I pursued a degree in education from Miami after graduating from Talawanda in 1966.

I have such fond memories of Mr. Bogan. He was my parents' principal at Hanover and served as the superintendent from the time I entered school at Hanover in '55 until I graduated from Talawanda in '66. I saw him several times after I became an adult and he was so excited that I had become a teacher, a principal and later a superintendent. I am sure my knowledge of him as a child influenced my career choices later. I always viewed him as a leader and admired him greatly. His life was certainly one of service to individuals and the community.

I knew Bob when he was County Administrator. I served as Supt. of the Butler Juvenile Center. Bob was an understanding and honorable man. May God take care of him now.

Dear Bob and Sharon,
I am unable to come to Oxford Thursday to pay my respects in person, so I am sending this note. I was sorry to read of your father's death. He was a good and kind man. I remember him best from his working with the county commissioners. It is hard to lose a parent, no matter what age; we were lucky to have had ours for such a long time. May it be of comfort to you to know that I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

I want to express my deepest sympathy to the family of Robert Bogan. My daughter, Ashley is a first grader at Bogan Elementary and she was always so excited when Mr. & Mrs. Bogan came to visit. The beautiful new Bogan Elementary was named after a wonderful man, and we keep the Bogan Family in our thoughts and prayers.
