News Death Notice
SURFACE, Sr., Robert T. Age 67, of Monroe, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015 at UC West Chester Hospital. He was born July 8, 1948 in Lebanon, OH. He was a metallurgical engineer for A K Steel. Bob is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary (Schmidt) Surface; children Rob Surface of Monroe, Erin (Matt) Garitson of Middletown and Jay Surface of Middletown; grandchildren Miranda Marshall and Dillon Spivey; brother David (Peggy) Surface and leaves behind many other family members, friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Virginia (Bryant) Surface. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2015 from 9:00-11:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Monroe. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to: Benefit for Anne Messinger "Kidney Transplant Fund", 1885 Need Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45233. He always put a smile on our faces and was quite the comedian. He will be missed at our 50th Reunion next yr. What a great legacy you have been blessed with.

Dear Mary & Family,
I was informed of Bob's passing over the weekend. I haven't seen Bob for many years but I have some found memories of him when I called on Armco back in the late 80's and early 90's. He was always smiling and could make you laugh.
