DOWNIE, Ruby Colleen Ruby Colleen Downie, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 10:53 PM at the age of 72. She was born in LaFollette, Tennessee on December 7, 1935. Ruby loved taking trips and spending time with her family. On February 18, 1953 in Hamilton she married Charles Downie. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles Downie of Seven Mile; three daughters, Melinda (fiancé Michael Slaton) Downie, Karen (Stan) Reece, and Lisa (Tom Perkins) Downie, all of Hamilton; six grandchildren, Amy (Shawn Sizemore) Nantz, Jennifer Nantz, Jessica (Rick) Kolde, Angela (Kelly Hornsby) Gibson, Stacy Gibson, and Samantha Gibson; six great-grandchildren, Jordan, Aden, Devon, Dillon, Austin, and Addyson; two brothers, Eugene (Aileen) Huckelby of Cincinnati and Donald (Rita) Jones of Hamilton; special neighbors Dave and Helga Phillips of Seven Mile; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Deola (McCullah) Jones and a sister, Mary Southard. Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, March 28, 2008 at 12:00 NOON with Pastor Terry Zeller of Bibleway Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 NOON.
