Troy STAPLETON Obituary
News Death Notice
STAPLETON, Troy H. age 62 of Fairfield passed away suddenly on Thursday May 29, 2014 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born May 21, 1952 in Holden, West Virginia the son of the late Hubert and Myrtle (Moore) Stapleton. Troy was a proud 42 year member of Teamsters Local 100 and was employed by McClain Dray Line (1972-1973), Chippewa Motor Freight (1973-1980), The Kroger Company (1980-1982), Putnam Transfer (1983), and Yellow Freight System (1983-2013). In addition Troy served the membership of Local 100 as Recording Secretary (1987-1989 and 1993-1995), Trustee (1996), Business Representative (1996-2001 and 2011-2013) and six years as President (2005-2010), and was Trustee and Secretary-Treasurer of the Teamster Joint Council #26 (2005-2011). In his distinguished Teamster career, Troy was an elected official for over 21 years. He was an Executive Board member for 13 years and Business Representative for 15 years. Troy is considered to be the second longest serving Teamster Official in the history of Local 100. Troy loved everyone who touched his life and was a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by one daughter Azure (Layne) Herrington; one son Brandon Stapleton; two grandsons Traye and Tyson Herrington; his fiancé Connie Hirsch; three brothers Phil (Doris) Stapleton, Robert (Teresa) Stapleton, and Larry Stapleton; step children Amy, Scott, and Kyle Hirsch, and step granddaughters Mackenzie, Mickayla, Madison, and Kylie. Troy is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held from 5-8 PM on Wednesday June 4, 2014 at the Teamsters Local 100 Hall, 2100 Oak Road, Sharonville, Ohio. Had not seen the Stapletons in quite a while but from the first time we met them you knew that Troy was definitely a people person. Don't think he ever met a stranger. He always had a smile and he really cared about people. We are so glad that we were able to know Troy and his family.May God comfort the family and all those who loved Troy. You were truly blessed to have him in your life. Cherish the wonderful memories you all share.

I have thought of Troy so often in the past couple of years. I will carry him in my heart. I only regret that I never connected with him during that time. A kind man and a man that wanted to do the right thing for everyone. God bless his family during this very sad time. He is gone too soon.

We have many fond memories of Troy from high school. We would ride around town in our muscle cars and listen to soul music. Troy turned us on to The Ventures –we listened to all kinds of music on our 8-track tape players. Troy liked to dance and have a good time. He always had a big smile for everyone. He had many friends! Over the years we would see Troy from time to time and he was always the same happy guy.
We are so very sorry for your loss. Troy will always be in our hearts.
