BLEVINS, Winifred May 80, of Oakland and formerly of Hamilton, OH died on Monday, March 24, 2014 at the Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on February 20, 1934 in Woolwich, England, she was the daughter of the late Fradelle "Fred" and Mary Bell (Mason) Meader. Win came to the United States in 1953 after marrying an American soldier. She lived most of her life in Hamilton, OH and moved to Oakland five years ago to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Greg Stoner. Win was a hairdresser in her younger days and also worked as an activities coordinator for a senior center in Hamilton. As a child during World War II in England, she was evacuated with many other children to the northern countryside and often spoke of her experiences of wartime in England. Win loved reading, gardening, attending plays and movies, painting and cooking for family and friends. She was a former member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Hamilton and attended St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Oakland. She is survived by three daughters, Gail Blevins Stoner and husband Greg of Oakland, Sheila Anne Blevins and husband Ken Cook of Fairfield, OH and Monica Elaine Neiderman and Michael Baker of Dayton, OH; grandchildren, Travis Hunt Stoner, Elizabeth Atwood, Kyla Cook, Kate Neiderman and Sarah Neiderman; a sister, June Kessler of Hamilton, OH; and three nieces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Eugene Blevins and her longtime companion, William Addington. A memorial service will be held at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Hamilton, Ohio on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 1 PM. www.burdockfredlockfh.com
