Zachary Thacker Obituary
News Death Notice
THACKER, Zachary Allen age 24, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Atrium Medical Center. He was born February 25, 1986 in Middletown and lived in this area all his life. He graduated in 2004 from Preble-Shawnee High School where he participated in wrestling and football, and was employed by Labor Local 534. He was an avid outdoorsman. Preceding him in death were his paternal grandfather, Robert C. Dietz, Sr.; maternal grandfather, Ernest King, Jr.; paternal great grandfather, Detmer Thacker; and maternal great grandfather, Talmadge Swartz. He is survived by his father, Christopher Scott Thacker and Tracy; his mother and step-father, Kimberly and Kenny King; two brothers, Cody Thacker, and Amanda, and Hunter King; step-brother, Kenny King, Jr.; step-sister, Kenetta Lawson; paternal grandmother, Gale Dietz; paternal grandparents, Larry and Patty Withrow; maternal grandfather and grandmother, Bud and Paulette Hollar; maternal grandmother, Phyllis King; paternal great grandmother, Frieda Thacker; maternal great grandmother, Edith Swartz; special paternal uncle and aunt, Steve and Judy Thacker; special maternal aunts and uncles, Allen and Lisa Hollar and Michelle and Mark Agee; many cousins, and his many friends that dearly loved him. Visitation will be Monday, September 27, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, followed by services at 3:00 p.m. at the Butler County Memorial Park Chapel, Trenton, Ohio with Reverend Daniel Hidlebaugh officiating. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family at Butler County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown.

I don't know if you remember us, but our son went to Jefferson Elementary with both of your boys. We know the pain and heartache you are feeling because we lost our son, Justin, in July of 2009. I will miss you Zach! Those orange shoes, lol I loved them. It added character.... And such a soft soul you were. I am sad you left us so soon, besides us being family, we just became neighbors a little while ago.
I will never forget your warm smile as you would yell hey Mimmie! And how are you today? Well, as I sit and think the last time I saw you I tried hard to get you to stay for the cookout. You were in a hurry that day, and that was fine.
I would have never thought it would be the last time I spoke to you.
I hope that you know how much you were loved by all. As I am here to tell you, You had a bunch!!!!!!!

It's never easy to tell a family that you are sorry for there loss. It's very hard to find the words to say to comfort them. I believe that it's better to remember him and keep his memories a live rather than to dwell on the loss of him. I graduated with Zach from Shawnee in 2004. I can't think of anyone who didn't think the world of Thacker. He was just a great all around person. My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family and friends. We now have a wonderful guardian angel looking down over us. Rest in peace Zach. You will be missed by many.
