Hugh 'Huey' Earl Newman, born November 19, 1948, in Independence, LA, passed away January 14, 2024, in Greensburg, LA, at the age of 75. He was a lifelong resident of St. Helena Parish Louisiana.
Huey, a combat veteran, served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
Huey is survived by his son, Hugh, daughter-in-law Christina, and granddaughter Hillary, all of Northern California. Huey is also survived by his sister, Peggy Causey of Gonzales Louisiana, and brothers Tommy and Keith Newman of St. Helena Parish, along with several nieces and nephews.
Huey was preceded in death by his firstborn infant daughter Shana, parents John and Martha Newman, brother Dudley Newman, and sisters Mary Ann Christjohn, Martha Black, Marie Booty, and Katherine Spohrer.
Huey will be interred at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in a private ceremony with full honors. May he rest in peace.
