Jacqueline Fitzmorris "Jackie" Stewart

Stewart, Jacqueline 'Jackie' Fitzmorris, 82, passed away surrounded by family on April 17, 2025 in Hammond, Louisiana. Born in Springville, Louisiana, on March 29, 1943, Jackie graduated from Fairpark High School in Shreveport, Louisiana and from Louisiana Technical University in Ruston with a Bachelor's degree. She married her sweetheart, Jim 'Sonny' Stewart, on November 21, 1962 and they remained devoted to one another for over 57 years until Jim passed away in 2020. Jackie made friends everywhere she went and cherished those friendships always. She was an accomplished painter and truly enjoyed working in her yard and cultivating flowering plants. When Jim and Jackie moved to Holden, Louisiana in 1997, they joined Springfield Baptist Church and Jackie enjoyed volunteering in the nursery and supporting the mission work of their community. Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Stewart; her parents, Joseph Leslie Fitzmorris and Florence Mae Dunn. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leslie Kathleen and Kirk Reese of Las Vegas, her son and daughter-in-law, John Damon and Kim Coco Stewart of Baton Rouge and her son, James Paul Stewart of Albany. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Andrew Stewart, David Stewart (Camille), Theresa Stewart (Michael Bernal, fiancée), Catherine Broussard (Everett), Michael Stewart, Anna Stewart, and Kyle Stewart. She is also survived by her sisters, Florence Mae Fitzmorris, and Kay Shrimpton, sisters-in-law Joy Stewart and June Dowden.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at the Chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 7738 Florida Blvd, Denham Springs, LA. on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Zeigler Cemetery in Livingston.
