Joseph Andrew Dick was born in Albany, LA on November 21, 1951, to the late Joseph and Susie Dick. He passed away at a residence in Independence, LA May 11, 2024, at age 72. Joseph was a retired Information Technology Technician for Southeastern Louisiana State University, having retired July 15, 2019. He was a parishioner of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Independence, LA. At a young age, Joseph became an accomplished musician and played with several churches and bands in the area. He also played at various restaurants, festivals, weddings, nightclubs and campgrounds. He was also a HAM operator for many years. Joseph is survived by his close companion, Magan Kimmons; and two sisters, Dorothy and June. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and an infant twin brother. Visitation will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 North Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, LA, Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Father Reuben Dykes. Interment will follow in St. Margaret Catholic Church Cemetery in Albany. Pallbearers will be Blake Major, Jeff Kimmons, Paul Kimmons, Brett Saragusa, Thomas Guillot, and Austin Martin. Following the interment, a reception for Joseph will follow at Magan's home at 53342 South Bennett Road, Independence, LA.

Joe & I were 1st cousins, growing up in Albany & attending school together until our graduation from Albany High School in 1969. I am so sorry that I did not get to see him before he died. He will be in my prayers & I will miss him.
