Debra “Debbie” Lytal, 63, a native of Lockport and resident of Kenner, LA, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Holy Savior Little Catholic Church, from 9 am until service time. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 am with burial in the church cemetery.
Debbie is survived by her sister, Gerilyn Lytal Roth (Matt); brother, James Lytal IV.; niece and Godchild, Regan Roth Peltier (Davis); niece, Ashley Roth Powers (Bryant); nephew, Andre Roth; great-nephew, Henry Peltier and her feline companion, Paisley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James T. Lytal III and Mary Lynn Boyd Lytal.
Debbie was a kind and compassionate person with a gentle spirit. She graduated from Central Lafourche High School in 1980, where she was in the band and a majorette, and she carried her love of music throughout her life, especially enjoying concerts. After high school, she attended LSU and graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, studying communications and journalism. She loved writing and watching documentaries, and she was a devoted football fan who especially enjoyed LSU and the Saints. She adored her nieces and nephew and cared deeply for animals, finding joy in tending to her plants. She will be remembered for her quiet kindness and sincere heart.
