Wayne A. Dufrene, 62, passed away Friday, August 16th at 4:07 pm, surrounded by his sisters.
Born, October 14th 1961, son of George Joseph Dufrene Sr. and Marie Daigle Dufrene. Grandson of Oristile and Justilia Orgeron Dufrene and Joseph and Marie Pichoff Daigle.
He is survived by his siblings: George Jr. (Yola Jean Patrolia-Dufrene), Geraldine Janes, Cynthia (Michael “Mike” Walk), Brenda Cheramie, Lonnie Dufrene, brother-in-law: Norman Robichaux as well as many nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews, as well as a few great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, three sisters: Gwendolyn Plaisance, Marie Robichaux, Gaylia Dufrene, sister-in-law: Jessica Chaisson-Dufrene, brothers-in-law: Lawrence Plaisance and Doyt Janes, Charlie Fitch, niece: Michelle Janes Songe.
Wayne loved the outdoors. He was an avid Hunter, Fisherman, and Trapper. Followed family generations of Carpenters and enjoyed working with his hands, building or fixing things, and even being an innovator; inventing things to ensure the ease of operating more efficient.
He graduated, January 4th 1979, midterm with the highest honors Valedictorian of his class from Central Lafourche High School. He was a member of the Holy Savior Catholic Church. He remained a resident of the Lockport community until his later years. He lived in Northern Baton Rouge area where he managed to gain several friendships.
The family asked that you join in the remembrance and celebration of Wayne Anthony Dufrene as he will be rejoining his family that went before him and will be laid to rest, in the arms of our Lord Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Falgout Funeral Home, in Lockport, visitation 9:30 am until 11:00 am. Services will be at 11:00 am with burial to follow in Holy Savior Cemetery.
