Lawrence, age 68, went to his Heavenly Home on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. He was a resident of Harahan, LA. Lawrence was born on July 19, 1954 in Independence, LA. Lawrence was a former employee of Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Gargoyles Clothing in New Orleans, and numerous florist shops. He moved from Louisiana to Salt Lake City, Utah in his early 20's. When the circus came through there in September 1980, he talked to the elephant trainer about a job. Four months later, he was hired and traveled throughout the United States with the Blue Unit of Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey. He also traveled with the Gold Unit of the circus to Tokyo, Osaka, and Sapporo in Japan. After traveling for many years with the circus, Lawrence returned to Louisiana for work as a co-owner of Gargoyles Clothing, and he later worked at numerous florist shops, always taking much pride in his work. He was a wonderful baker, and his family looked forward to eating his delicious goodies, especially at Christmas. Besides baking, Lawrence loved watching old classic movies and gardening too. He often lent a helping hand to others, talked much of his faith, and stated that he was ready for Jesus whenever Jesus was ready for him. Lawrence was a unique and kind-hearted man and will be deeply missed.
Lawrence is survived by his sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Fletcher (Elbert) and Barbara Campbell; his affectionate pet cat, Spencer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Ollie Richardson; three brothers, Marvin Leon, Albert David, and Billy Joe Richardson.
