Malcolm "Mac" Irving Davis, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at the age of 82. He was born on October 19, 1938, in Yuma, Arizona.
Mac was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and a Merchant Marine for several years after. Mac was the owner of Mac Davis Masonry which was responsible for laying the brick for countless homes and business across Tangipahoa Parish for over 50 years. He was a master of his craft and took great pride in every structure he built. Along with having the skill to build sturdy structures, Mac also built strong relationships with the people around him. His memory will be cherished forever by the family and friends he leaves behind.
Mac is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lucy Crawford Davis; children, Connie Davis James, Keith Davis, Carlos Alessi, Travis Davis and wife Natalie, and Holly Davis Conrad and husband John; grandchildren, Michele Gill, Michael James, Jr., Aaron Davis, Sarah Davis, Sennett Jackson, Lane Jackson, Lucy Jackson, Caitie Skaggs, Tyler Davis, Josh Karrigan, Joey Karrigan, Jacob Karrigan, Ethan Conrad, and Emma Conrad; 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mac was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Campbell Davis; father, Rodrick Davis; step mother, Josephine Sirjack Davis; daughter, Deborah "Debbie" Alessi Karrigan; and siblings, Pauline Prichard, Roddy Davis, Jr., Frances Calmes, Phillip Davis, and Sydney Barnett.
Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Randy Ray and grandson Sennett Jackson officiating.
