Boo, age 81, passed away peacefully in his home while surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 4, 2025. He was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Metairie and then Loranger, Louisiana. Boo proudly served his country in The United States Marine Corps. He was a gifted and skilled Machinist, who set up the original machine shop at the startup of the Waterford III Nuclear Plant. At home he enjoyed working in his yard, with his plants, also in his woodworking and metal workshop. Boo, with the help of his granddaughters, would also occasionally be found tinkering and tuning up his 1964 Chevrolet Super Sport. He was quick to volunteer to help others, and was a faithful member of American Legion Post 255 and Loranger Legacy Church (Methodist). First and foremost was spending time with his family and faithful companion Dory. Boo was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who is already dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Boo is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia Smith Lemoine; daughter, Carrie Lemoine Champagne (Perry); son, Maurice 'Skip' J. Lemoine, III (Janine); grandchildren, Reagan and Cassidy Lemoine, Katelyn Rush (Kevin), Clarence Champagne (Courtney), and William Champagne; great-grandchildren, Elliot Escobar, and Elizabeth 'Izzy' Champagne; and his friend who was as close as a brother, Chuck Mayeaux (Kathy).
Boo is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice J. Lemoine, Sr. and Linster Bordelon Lemoine; sister, Ruth Lemoine Spier; grandparents, Vilfred Lemoine and Cleophine Juneau, and Anatole and Mathilda Bordelon.

I worked with Boo at W3. I used to go by the shop and ask lots of machinist questions as I enjoyed doing machine work. He was always patient and offered lots of knowledge- great guy. Sorry to hear of his passing.
