Melinda Basham Obituary
Melinda, age 58, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025. She was a resident of Ponchatoula, LA. Melinda was extremely creative and loved doing crafts, especially coloring. She was a very thoughtful person who always put others before herself. Melinda never forgot a birthday and at the very least you would get a card. She loved her family deeply, but the ones that called her Meme held a special place in her heart. Melinda was an exceptional mother, sister, and grandmother who will be forever missed.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Basham Sr. (Lisa); daughter, Kayla Burkhardt (EJ); sisters, Karen Anderson (Milton), Sharon Rowe (Lonnie); brothers, Thomas Daniels, Steven Daniels, Anthony Daniels, Jeffery Daniels; grandchildren, Joseph Basham Jr., Desiree Basham, Tyler Basham, Declan Burkhardt, Elle Burkhardt, Miley Burkhardt; and mother-in-law, Thelma Mixon.
Melinda was preceded in death by her husband, Joey Basham; parents, JL and Maggie Daniels; and brother, John Wesley Daniels.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home at 12012 Hwy 190 W. Hammond, LA on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Howell Cemetery.

Melinda you will be sadly missed my heart is broken I remember all the fun times we had in our lives we always had fun no matter what we were doing now you and your first true love husband father of your children can finally be together again Melinda I have so many memories of all of us I will cherish them forever until we meet again I love you sister in law.
