Robert Jeremiah Needham Jr.

1944 - 2023

Robert Jeremiah Needham, Jr., better known as R.J. of Robert Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the age of 79. He was born February 4, 1944 in Hammond, Louisiana.

R.J. was a loving husband, devoted father, and precious uncle and friend to so many. He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, humility, hard work, and integrity.

R.J. served in the United States Army where he was a radio operator. Without question, he was most passionate about his farming career on his beautiful property with his family.

Robert is survived by his wife, Janie Needham, and their two children and spouses: Robert Todd Needham (Sherie), and Kerri Renee Vinyard (Gary Lee) both from Robert, La.; his grandchildren, Savanah Jarrell (Rayne), Robert Dakotah Needham, Baleigh Pinell (Chris), Karagan Stewart (Zack), Lindsey Smith (Tyler), and Sawyer Needham; his great-grandchildren, Collyns and Madden Jarrell, Oliver and Elliot Pinell, and Khloe and Kinsleigh Stewart. R.J. had many wonderful nieces and nephews which he loved dearly, and he is survived by a large extended family as well.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father Robert Needham Sr. and Frances, as well as both his siblings Donnie Needham and Shirley Holmes.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Holly Gardens Cemetery in Hammond, Louisiana.
