Eugene Marshall Obituary
Riverdale resident Eugene Victor Marshall, 87, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008 of natural causes.
Eugene was a retired WWII veteran. He served his country proudly during WWII until an injury during training shortened his service. Later in life he met his true love, Maria, who he married and raised 12 wonderful and exciting children on a farm in Riverdale. Aside from being blessed with a big family, he also enjoyed his dogs, working on old clocks, telling old stories, especially to his grown children as if they had never heard or lived through them before. He had a way of always making his adult kids laugh even when he was scolding them. He also reminded his daughters how young and pretty they looked as if they were still at home growing up. Even through illness in his final years and up to his final hours he made sure that Mom knew that he loved her. He will be greatly missed by all his family especially as he brought us closer in his final months. We were especially treated on his last birthday because he was able to take a picture with all 30 of his grandchildren and one great-grandson. Even though he fussed we knew he was so excited. We thank the Lord for blessing us all these years with him and are comforted to know that he is in Our Saviors Christ Jesus loving arms.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Marshall; eight sons, Victor Marshall and wife Anna of Ohio, Gabino Jaime and wife Reyna of Lodi, John Jaime and wife Paula of Washington, Joel Jaime and wife Juanita of Salinas, Luis Tamayo of Lemoore, Salvador Tamayo of Lemoore, Victor Tamayo and wife Yesina of Fresno and Miguel Tamayo and wife Theresa of Hanford; five daughters, Maria Ramirez and husband Donato of Salinas, Mariam Gonzalez and husband Henry of Fresno, Sandra Sanchez and husband Jairo of Clovis, Patricia Perez and husband John of Lemoore and Maricela Davlin and husband Aaron of Fresno; two brothers, Don Marshall and Robert Marshall; six sisters, Barbara Hill, Betty Bockman, Sandy Wayne, Virginia Hinijosa, Billie Cortez and Juanita Avila; 30 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
