Josephine Acevedo Obituary

Josie Acevedo of Hanford was born on Aug. 24, 1939 and left us to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008. Josie battled Leukemia for two years.

Josie was born in Tulare to Antonia and Domingo Pedregon. She lived and was raised in Orosi. Josie had five brothers and four sisters. Josie went to school for cosmetology and received her license in 1959 to do hair. She had her own shop in Orosi for alot of years. Josie also did hair at home while her children were growing up. She fixed hair for the women at Hanford Nursing and Rehabilitation Hospital. Josie was active in the Catholic church. She was a catechism teacher. Josie was a past president in the Woman's Aglow Club.

Josie married Ron Acevedo in 1973. They just celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. Josie was a loving, nurturing, wonderful wife. Best wife!

Josie was the best loving mother, grandmother and sister.

She is survived by her husband, Ron; seven children, Randy, Michele, Rodney, Paul, Isaac, Katy and Arthur; nine grandchildren that she cherished; three sisters, Grace Alvarez, Rita Cortez and Mary Sanchez; a brother, Anthony Pedregon; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Debbie Pedregon, brothers, Sal Pedregon, Mingo Pedregon, Joey Pedregon and Robbie Pedregon, and a grandson, Joshua Acevedo.

We are all deeply saddened by our loss, but she is in the best place now.
