Margaret Polder Obituary
September 3, 1921 - January 14, 2023
Margaret Vivian Polder, age 101, passed away on January 14, 2023 surrounded by family and loved ones at her home in Lemoore, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband Dick J. Polder, her parents Lyman and Janet Barlow of Downey, CA and her siblings Nathan, Russel, Douglas, Paul and John.
She is survived by her sons, Dick (Darlene), Bruce (Lisa) and daughter Sylvia Collins (Chuck), 8 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Margaret was born in Long Beach and after graduation from Downey High School, attended Long Beach J.C. and Biola University. Margaret married Dick Polder in 1941. They celebrated 75 years together until he passed in Jan. 2017. As a young married couple, Margaret and Dick moved to the Lemoore area and farmed on the west side of the Valley.
Margaret loved hosting parties, serving others and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was active in the Lemoore Baptist Church as a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Women's Missionary Society, and participant in Bible Studies. Margaret was very artistic; designing 4 of the houses she lived in, creating stained glass windows, paintings, and china paintings.
Margaret is where she longed to be, present with her Lord, singing and praising God with family and friends. Special thanks to her caregivers these last 6 years...Jan, Estelle, Irais and Rachel. We know she felt loved by all of you. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday 1-30-23 at 10:00 am at South Valley Community Church in Lemoore; Lunch to follow. Donations may be made to Kings Christian School Lemoore, CA.

I remember Margaret when we lived in Lemoore in the 1950's. My parents, Eugene and Mildred McClain were good friends of theirs through the Lemoore Baptist Church. My parents moved to South Dakota in 1962 and lived their until their deaths. I remember Margaret and Dick as such nice people. Norma McClain Nugent
