MAURITA ESMAS ROGADO

December 28, 1946 – November 23, 2024

With great sadness, Maurita 's children announce her passing on the early morning of November 23, surrounded by her sisters, children, and grandchildren. Maurita was born in Luisiana, Laguna in the Philippines. She immigrated in 1969 from the Philippines, where she was a teacher, to the United States to join her husband, Alejandro, who was serving in the United States Navy in Florida. Alejandro and Maurita later settled in Hanford, where Maurita worked at Catalina Swimwear and then for the family business. Maurita enjoyed spending time with her many friends and her family. She was kind, light-hearted, had a good sense of humor and loved to travel with her husband, friends, and sisters. Throughout her life, Maurita showed those she loved unwavering love, support, and kindness. Her death has been a great and profound loss for those who loved her. Maurita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alejandro, and her parents, Leandro and Delfina Esmas, and her siblings, Rosita Villanueva and Leandro Esmas. She is survived by her children, Geoffrey Rogado (Julie), Gerald Rogado (Cathy), and Mary Dang, grandchildren Alexander, Anthony, Gillian and Benjamin Rogado, and sisters Pilar Ramos, Lilia Esmas, and Lorna Rogado. Visitation at Whitehurst McNamara Funeral Home in Hanford on Dec. 13, 2024 from 4-7 pm. Rosary at 6 pm. Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. Dec. 14, 2024 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Celebration of life gathering to follow at the Portuguese Hall of Hanford, 8301 8 ½ Ave.
