MELISSA WATSON Obituary

MELISSA ANN WATSON

April 2, 1940 – October 21, 2024

Beloved Sister and Friend

Melissa Ann Watson was born April 2, 1940 in Denver Colorado to Kay and Odber Watson. She was the second of four daughters.

In 1952, her family moved from Colorado to Hanford where her father became a teacher at Hanford High School.

Melissa was a very happy child with a wonderful singing voice. She sang in the Cherub choir at First Presbyterian Church in Hanford. Melissa's singing continued throughout her education years at Woodrow Wilson, Hanford High, COS and Fresno State choirs.

She had a very satisfying career as an elementary teacher for twenty years. No matter what grade she taught she instilled in them a love for reading.

Melissa enjoyed making Christmas ornaments; a hobby horse made of plastic canvas and colored yard. She loved to give these away every Christmas.

Melissa never met a stranger. She was accepting of all people no matter the disability or color. She had a way of putting people at ease.

Services will be held at Neighborhood Church, 5505 W Riggin Ave, Visalia, California. November 16th at 11 am.
