RUBY HEAD Obituary

RUBY MARILYN WHEELER HEAD

May 13, 1929 February 29, 2024

Ruby Marilyn (Wheeler) Head passed peacefully into our Lords house on February 29th. Marilyn was born on May 13, 1929 in Hanford, California, where she met and later married the love of her life, Jake Head. They moved to Sacramento from 1953 to 1960 where Jake ran the local Raley's grocery store, and then they later moved to Corralitos in 1960 where they built their dream house. Marilyn was an avid gardener, seamstress, quilter, and enjoyed all types of needle crafts. She was a bookkeeper for several of the local apple growers for over 50 years, which led to her love of helping the community where she prepared individual tax returns through Project Scout for many years at the Watsonville Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle (Horsley) Wheeler, her father, Charles Wheeler, her husband Jake Head of 58 years, and her brother, James Wheeler. Marilyn is survived by several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Marilyn and Jake did not have children of their own, instead they had many cherished dogs and cats over the years and she was a great lover of all animals.

Marilyn will be laid to rest with her beloved husband in the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, California at a later date. Please make any kind acts of memorials to an animal charity of your choice.
