Tony G. Maciel

1921 - 2012

Tony G. Maciel of Hanford, CA passed away on Saturday April 21, 2012 at the age of 91 years old due to injuries from an accident. He was born to Joe G. and Estufania Maciel on April 12, 1921 in Tulare, CA. Tony was a dairy-farmer for over 60 years. He loved working on the farm, especially driving a tractor or hay swather. Tony loved working with his sons and would do anything to help them. He also enjoyed spending time at his Pismo Beach home with his wife of 64 years Mary L. Maciel. Tony's most treasured times were having his entire family together and spending time with them. In 1993 Tony was honored as Old Time Dairyman and in 2006 his family was selected Dairy Family of the Year. Tony was a member of Knights of Columbus, IDES and UPEC.
Tony is survived by his wife Mary, 3 sons David and wife Debbie, Danny and wife Brenda, Donald and wife Diana all of Hanford and daughter Diane and husband Eddie Augusto of Lemoore. Seven grandchildren Jennifer Pichurko and husband Steve, David Maciel, Jr. and wife Rory, Bridgette, Michelle and Kevin Maciel, Phillip and Anthony Augusto, great grandchild Haylie Maciel and step great grandchild Audrey Pichurko. Tony is also survived by one sister Lena Oliveira from Fresno, CA., and sisters-in-law Rosemary Maciel of Hanford, CA and Eva Martin of Tulare, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Barretto, and two brothers Manuel G.Maciel and Joe G. Maciel, Jr.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Laton, CA with the rosary at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Laton, CA with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Hanford, CA.
