Gloria J. Brownell, age 76, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 4:45 pm Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Beth Haven Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the Grand View Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand View Burial Park.
Visitation celebrating Gloria's life will be held 1:00 pm until the time of the service Wednesday at the Grand View Funeral Home.
Gloria was born on July 29, 1947, in Hannibal, MO the daughter of Sidney and Gloria (Hiles) Brownell.
Survivors include her sister, Sandy Brownell of Hannibal, MO; nieces and nephews, Kayla Brownell, Sarah Brownell Riedle (Chad), Chris Brownell (Lydia), Amie Strieker (Nate) and Amanda Brownell-Hudson; great- nieces and nephews, Sidney, Mitch, Rowan, Reese, Montgomery, Simone, Mason and Lucas.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Brownell was preceded in death by two brothers, Sid Brownell and Don Brownell and a sister, Patty Hart.
Gloria worked as a CNA at St. Elizabeth Hospital alongside her cherished friends and colleagues, Dr. John Clisham and Karen Miller.
Gloria had a love for the outdoors, she enjoyed life on the farm, raising chicken's, emus and dogs. She also enjoyed raising flowers, crocheting, cooking, word puzzles, fishing, camping and watching the New York Giants. Ms. Brownell's love for Elvis was a true passion, she enjoyed taking trips to Graceland with her sister Sandy as often as possible. Gloria's biggest love was her family and friends whom she cherished their love deeply.
Ms. Brownell was a Christian by faith.
Pallbearers will be Chris Brownell, Sid Brownell, Chad Riedle, Montgomery Riedle, Nate Striker and Bill Miles.
Memorial contributions may be made to the NEMO Humane Society, in care of the Grand View Funeral Home.
