Martha Grannan Robertson died on September 4, 2025, in Quincy, Illinois at Quincy Healthcare and Senior Living, formerly St. Vincent's nursing home. She was born on June 3, 1946, in Washington, Indiana, to her parents Robert and Marjorie Grannan.
Martha graduated from Quincy Senior High School, Class of 1964. She attended the University of Arkansas and obtained her degree from Fontbonne College. On November 25, 1967, Martha married E. Mont Robertson in the First Presbyterian Church of Quincy, Illinois. Mont passed away on February 1, 2022.
Martha was a devoted wife and mother. She was a homemaker, an impressive cook, a teacher, and an insurance agent. She was committed to lifelong learning and her faith in Christ. She was an active member of the Quincy community and a supporter of Quincy High School sports along with numerous organizations over her life, including the Philanthropic Education Organization (P.E.O.) and Atlantis.
She is survived by her three children: Sarah Jane Robertson, Scott Thomas Robertson, and Stephen Wilson Robertson. She is survived by five grandchildren: Zita Robertson, Zalan Robertson, Jillian Robertson, Allison Robertson, and Eden Robertson; and a younger brother, Scott Grannan. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Mont Robertson, her parents, and two siblings, Lee Grannan and Linda Dunham.
The family wishes to thank those many friends and health care professionals at Blessing Hospital and Quincy Healthcare and Senior living, formerly St. Vincent's nursing home, who cared for Martha and provided their support, love, and prayers.
The family has elected to have a Service/Celebration of Life at the First Union Congregational Church on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 1:30 for both Martha and the love of her life, Mont Robertson. Martha shall be laid to rest with Mont at Whitehall Cemetery.
