Robert Failor Obituary

Robert "Bob" Lee Failor, Sr. age 78, of New London, MO passed away at 7:57 am Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at his home.

A memorial service will be held 7:00 pm Monday, August 26, 2024, at the Grand View Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Barker will officiate.

Visitation celebrating Robert's life will be held 5:00 pm until the time of the service Monday at the Grand View Funeral Home.

Robert was born on January 2, 1946, in Hannibal, MO the son of William R. Failor Sr. and Mary (Brown) Poling.

He was united in marriage to Elizabeth "Penny" Salisbury, and she preceded him in death, he later was married to Donna Marie Green, she also preceded him in death. On April 30, 2009, Bob was united in marriage to Sandra "Sandy" Green. She survives him of the home.

Other survivors include his children, Robert Failor, Jr. (Fran Harpole) of New London, MO, Michael Failor, Sr. (Misty Dunham-Chilsted) of Hannibal, MO, Angela Fox (Kenneth) of Woodbridge, VA, Elizabeth Reeves of Hannibal, MO, James Dean (Michelle) of New London, MO, Keith Seroka (Jenna) Ottawa, IL, Donald Seroka of Hannibal, MO, Darci Clatt (Kevin) of Hannibal, MO, Justin Lowery of New London, MO, Tara Lowery of New London, MO, Angelique Collinge (Levi) of Kirksville, MO

Evan Failor of New London, MO and Brandon Failor (Laura) of Nuremberg, Germany; siblings, Gail Ann Waller (Mike) of Emden, MO, Kelly Funkenbusch (Scott) of Maywood, MO and Steve Poling of Kansas City, MO; sisters-in-law, Belinda Failor and JoAnn Failor; and brother-in-law, John Fowler; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and first and second wives, Mr. Failor was preceded in death by two children Sarah Green Hasitngs and Charles Matthew Lowery; siblings, Billy Russell Failor, Jr., Larry Wayne Failor, Sr., Basil A. Failor, Sr., Donna Kay Failor, Brenda Fowler, Terry Joe Failor, Sr. and David Poling.

Bob retired from American Cyanamid in the maintenance department after a little over 25 years of service. He later worked as a self-employed contractor. He had an art for construction and was a very well-known plasterer in the Hannibal area. Bob had helped restore several buildings and homes in the Historical District of Hannibal.

Bob was a workaholic and could fix just about anything, but he always found time to spend with his family. He cherished times spent camping, fishing and boating on the Mississippi River with family and friends. Another talent of Bob's was photography and videography, every family event, especially weddings, Bob could be found with his camera or video recorder making lasting memories for his family to cherish for years. Bob was family man that loved family with all his heart. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Mr. Failor was a Christian by faith.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of Grand View Funeral Home.
