Ronald L. Bode, 85, of Hannibal, Mo, passed away at 1:20 PM, Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Luther Manor Nursing Center in Hannibal, MO.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 2, 2026, at James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. Pastor Devin White and Pastor Scott Salo will officiate. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in West Ely, MO.
Friends and Family are invited to Ronald's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, at the funeral home.
Ronald was born June 4, 1940, in Hannibal, MO to George Bode and Wilma Pflantz Bode.
He was previously married to Shirley A. Swank on December 3, 1967, in Brookfield, MO. She preceded him in death. He later married Edna Colliver on November 30, 1991. She preceded him in death on December 10, 2013.
Survivors include his four children, Lewis Bode (Robin) of Hannibal, MO, Dennis Bode of Lenexa, KS, Sarah Bode of Columbia, MO, and Brian Bode (Betty) of Palmyra, MO; two brothers, Darryl Bode (Sharon) of Palmyra, MO and Ted Bode (Colleen) of Omaha, NE; one sister, Wanda Bauer (Arlin) of Cole Camp, MO; one sister-in-law, Linda Bode of Ooltewah, TN; eight grandchildren, Angela Bode, Megan Hollywood (Keenan), Scott Bode (Denae), Colin Bode, Jordyn Bode, Brett Bode, Bailee Bode, and Destiny Weber; one stepdaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Loren Bode; and one niece, Sharryl Bode.
Professionally, Ronald was a farmer and also was a grounds keeper at Hannibal LaGrange University.
Ronald enjoyed the simple thing in life. He found peace in working on the farm and enjoying a beautiful day outdoors fishing. A devout follower of his faith, Ronald's commitment to his Bible Studies was unwavering. His faith was a source of comfort and guidance. Ronald's enthusiasm extended to the sports he loved. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and of Mizzou football, win or lose, he was always loyal and found cheering them on. Above all, Ronald was a family man and treasured each moment spent with them. His love for his family was unmeasurable. He was a pillar of strength, a source of wisdom, and a constant provider of support and encouragement.
Pallbearers will be Lewis Bode, Dennis Bode, Brian Bode, Brett Bode, Scott Bode, and Keenan Hollywood.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Donor's Choice.
