ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Jeanette Mildred Gluth passed away in Albuquerque, NM on October 16, 2025. She is survived by her son, Jeffry of Albuquerque, NM.
She was born to Henrietta and Joseph Repetny in Chicago, IL in 1932. She was an only child. The family soon moved to Three Oaks, Michigan to live on the farm of Henrietta's parents, the Maticks.
To hear Mom speak of her childhood, it was an idyllic life with lots of baby animals to spoil and where she was loved by her parents and grandparents. The memory of those days that were the strongest for her and which she related to me often was helping her grandfather pick cucumbers in the garden, throwing them into the horse-drawn wagon and then riding with him into Three Oaks to sell at the pickle factory.
Jeanette graduated Three Oaks High School in 1950 and went on to attend St. Mary's College in South Bend, IN. She studied music and played on the Field Hockey team but did not graduate.
She married Alfred W Gluth of Three Oaks upon his discharge from the Army in February 1954. They had three sons: Steven, Jeffry and Gregg.
Jeanette had a dozen different jobs throughout her career, but her favorite was taking care of international accounts at Electro-Voice in Buchanan, MI. In the days before computers, she operated the forerunner of the facsimile machine to communicate orders from foreign customers.
Jeanette served her community with elected positions on Galien Township School Board and with Galien Township as Township Clerk. She was an avid reader of biographies and sewed constantly. Machine quilting, hooked rugs and cross-stitch kept her busy for hours until her eyesight deteriorated.
Jeanette lived a great life and was a tough old bird! She was an excellent role model and raised her boys to be respectful and honorable men. She is deeply missed ...
