Hosea Hefley, age 88, passed away surrounded by his daughters on Friday, March 16 (2018).
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at Holt Memorial Chapel in Harrison. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 23, at Holt Memorial Chapel followed by a graveside service at 3 p.m. at Gentry Cemetery in Gentry.
The son of J.K. and Nellie Hefley was born April 18, 1929, in Western Grove.
He married Emma Lou Pierce on Sept. 27, 1944. Hosea and Emma Lou lived in Rogers, and attended Mountain Springs Baptist Church in Monte Ne. Hosea was well known for his quality work as a builder in the Harrison area for many years and later as superintendent for Nabholz Construction for 21 years. He was a farmer, a rancher and a lover of music.
Hosea was counted on as someone who knew how to build or fix pretty much anything. His passing leaves those of us who depended on his love and advice wondering what we will do without him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Emma Lou Hefley; his parents, J.K. and Nellie Hefley; one brother; and six sisters.
Hosea is survived by his children, Debbie Marley and husband, Robert, of Fort Smith, Jan Sweeney and husband, Gordon, of Fayetteville, and Trish Linch and husband, Bill, of Waldron; brother, John Hefley; one sister, Julie Younes, of Harrison; two sisters-in-law, Pat Wood, of Manhattan, Kansas, and Henrietta Graham, of Harrison. He was blessed with eight grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital.
