Robert Lee VanTassel

1950 - 2024

On Feb. 7 (2024) our beloved Robert left us to meet the Lord. Robert Lee VanTassel was born Aug. 28, 1950, to Marven and Juanita VanTassel in Fresno, California. He lived in California until joining the army. He served in Korea from 1969 to 1975. There he met the love of his life, Kyong. They were married 52 years and were blessed with a daughter, Kimberly Ann, age 35.

Robert was active in the VFW and DAV. By 2013, he already volunteered 12,500 hours. He loved his fellow veterans so much. He served as commander of Chapter 6 in the DAV. The VFW and DAV have been amazing to Robert and his family. The family cannot express their gratitude to them.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Marvin and mother, Juanita.

He is survived by his wife, Kim "Kyong," daughter, Kimberly; sister, Peggy; nephews, Jerry Foster and his wife Angel, Jameson Foster and his wife Candy, Josh Foster, Justin Foster; and many beloved cousins and friends.

He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and friend. His daughter Kimberly called him her "brave, courageous, brilliant father." They were side kicks. He is so loved and will be missed by all.

Funeral Service will be 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 12 (2024) at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.

Interment will take place at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
