Danny Thomas Obituary

HARTFORD CITY – Danny C. Thomas, 62, died at 5:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.

He was born on June 13, 1950, in Oneida, Tenn., to the late Abner Thomas Jr. and the late Pansy Jewell (Pryor) Thomas.

Danny served in the United States Marine Corps from Feb-ruary 15, 1968, to September 22, 1969. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and Indianapolis Colts Fan. He enjoyed mud riding, blacktop quarter mile racing and Cajun food. He was a member of Full Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle Church.

He will be sadly missed by his son, John Daniel (wife, Patricia R.) Thomas, of Hartford City; granddaughter, Katlyn Danielle Thomas, of Florida; companion, Linda Harter, of Hartford City; brothers, Donny R. (wife, Clesta) Thomas, of Hartford City, and Ronnie J. (wife, Lisa) Thomas, of Hartford City; sister, Sheila R. (husband, John) Modricker, of Hartford City; half brothers, Ronald D. (wife, Amy) Thomas, of Hartford City, and Jeff D. (wife, Jennifer) Thomas, of Hartford City; stepmother, Mary Joan (West) Thomas, of Hartford City; step brother, Michael R. Thomas, of Hartford City; step sister, Wedda J. (companion, Robert Orr) Sills, of Hartford City; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at noon on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City, with the Rev. Bobby Thomas of Full Gospel Lighthouse Tabernacle Church officiating.

Burial will follow at Marion Veterans Administration National Cemetery, Marion.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Keplinger Funeral Home.
