Dear Nita and Family,

I knew it would be coming but like always we are never ready! I just heard todday that Mrs. Haynes is with our Father which art in Heaven! I WILL ALWAYS RREMEMBER Mrs. Hayes for her funny ways that made me and jeannie laugh and the friendship that she and my mother (Ophelia Shannon) had all these years, especially when it came to ushering together at the old Hopewell Baptist Church and the cooking and baking in the kitchen. I will never forget all the things that she did for me and just just ask God to give her traveling merceies. And that I will see her later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!

AUNTIE NITA AND FAMILY,FIRST AND FOREMOST I WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY.SECONDLY I WOULD LIKE TO THANK GOD FOR HAVING CREATED SUCH A DEAR, SWEET, WONDERFULLY NUTURING HUMAN BEING IN THE FORM OF GRANNY. SHE SO GRACIOUSLY AND LOVINGLY TOOK ME IN AS A BABY, AND YET AGAIN AS AN ADOLESCENT.THEN FORTUNATELY THROUGH MY TEEN YEARS TO MY YOUNG ADULT LIFE.IN THOSE YEARS, I FOUND IT A PLEASURE TO WATCH AND LEARN FROM HER.GRANNY INSTILLED IN ME AT A VERY YOUNG AGE TO BE AN INDEPENDENT, SUCCESSFUL YOUNG LADY.AND THOUGH I LEFT HOME AT AN EARLY AGE AND HAD NOT BEEN IN HER COMPANY IN A LONG WHILE, THAT NEVER ONCE STOPPED ME FROM BECOMING THE WONDERFUL WELL ROUNDED WOMAN I AM TODAY.WITHOUT GRANNY I WOULD HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED BALLET,TEACHING OR NURSING. AS A MATTER OF FACT, IT IS BECAUSE OF HAVING HER IN MY LIFE I CAN DO EVEN THE SMALLEST OF THINGS LIKE WALLPAPERING AND HAVING INTIMATE LITTLE TEA PARTIES.AUNTIE NITA, YOU WILL NEVER REALLY KNOW JUST HOW MUCH YOUR MOTHER HAS INSPIRED MY LIFE.I, LIKE SO MANY OTHERS HAVE BEEN BLESSED TO HAVE KNOWN HER.

To The Family Of Mrs. Ada Haynes;
I will always remember Mrs Haynes as a stately woman of great integrity. I was so very priviledged to have known her during my lifetime. I remember well how she and my own mother used to be great friends and traveled with Rev. E.R. King when he was the pastor of Hopewell Baptist Church. I know that she has not been well for a while and I know that now she rests in the arms of God. May peace ever be with you as you had a great and Godly Mother/Grandmother/foster mother etc. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Love

To the Haynes and Sheppard families,I was sadden to hear about the passing of your/our love one.I thank God that I had the privilege of knowing Mrs. Haynes"Granny",She was a wonderful woman.I remember the first time we met,I went to her home on Green Street with some one,and Mrs Haynes welcomed me into her home as if she had known me for years.She was a beautiful and loving woman,a woman with dignity and class.I admired her for her strengt,endurance and love for children and that love was shown by the way she opened up her heart and home to the many foster children she cared for,raising some of them to adults "and still couldn't get them out of the house" that enclude family members of my own.I thank God for her and often thanked her for the way she cared for my sisters children until she was well enough to care for them again herself.Granny was my confidant, she always had advise for me or my sister but only if we asked her for it.We thought of each other as family,I will never forget this giant of a woman,it was through Mrs. Haynes that I realized what God wanted me to do I will never forget her,and now that she has come to the end of her journey, may she rest in peace. And to Juanita and the rest of the family, may you find comfort in knowing that others care and share your grief. you have our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy.Remember that weeping may endure for a nigth but joy comes in the morning.
