Aimee Millett Obituary

Aimee Lynn (Viens) Millett, 35, of Middletown, beloved wife of Gregory E. Millett Jr., tragically passed away in a car accident Thursday, November 9, 2017. Aimee was born in Hartford, a daughter of Marcel and Claire (Lavoie) Viens, and resided in Middletown for the past 12 years. She graduated from Newington High School, received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Albertus Magnus College, and her Master's degree from C.C.S.U. Along with her husband and parents, Aimee is survived by her two sons Tyler and Riley Millett, of Middletown, her brother Jason Viens and his wife Rebecca, of Higganum, her mother and father in-law Gregory and Theresa Millett, of Madison, her sister-in-law Jennifer Millett, of Middletown, her niece Allyson, nephew Toby, and many dear friends and family. Aimee had a love of Softball. She loved watching her son's play sports, especially soccer. The beach was her sanctuary. She loved the sound and scenery of the ocean, lying out and combing the beach for seashells. Her favorite family vacation was Cocoa Beach, Florida. She constantly talked about going there and would have moved there in a heartbeat. She always put her kids and family first. She was a caring person who loved pets; she would have adopted every cat and dog if humanly possible. She and her husband shared similar views on life. They met in college and have been together 17 years, married for 12. Aimee's funeral service will be held Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. from Fisette-Batzner Funeral Home at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 626 Willard Ave., Newington. Interment will be in West Meadow Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Fisette-Batzner. To the Viens Family,
I am beyond heartbroken to hear of this tragic loss of your Aimee. I am a friend of her through softball and school. One of my very first memories with her was in Newington Little League when she played on the Mustangs I played third base on Trash Away. Every single time I saw her getting ready on deck to come up to bat I would get nervous bc she would always rip that ball up the 3rd base line harder than anyone I have ever played with! My dad always loved her because of how hard she worked and what great of a personality she possessed. I know he was able to give her a hug for me in Heaven. High school memories of playing softball with her and being her friend were the best times of my life. Even though I lost touch with Aimee after college I can still hear her laugh. May she rest forever in peace. I am praying for her little boys, that she can guide them throughout their life as their guardian angel.

I was shocked and deeply saddened to read this tragic news about Aimee. Though many years have passed, I have very clear and many happy memories of working with Aimee, as well as her brother Jason and their Dad Marcel, in Jukido Jujitsu and Kokondo Karate in Newington. Aimee was especially noteworthy not only for her technical effectiveness, but for her kindness, helpfulness to others and maturity, even as a very young student. Aimee and Jason were both leaders by example from a young age, and role models for the entire dojo. They certainly made Shihan Arel and the other Sensei quite proud, and knowing their parents, it was easy to see why they were such impressive individuals. I send my deepest condolences to Greg, Tyler, Riley, Claire, Marcel and Jason, and the entire family at this sad time. May Aimee's example of kindness, caring and generosity live on in all whose lives she touched and made better.

My deepest sympathy to Aimees close friends and relatives. Aimee and I met at work, she would relieve me in West Hartford every Tuesday night where she would do the overnight shift and care for our client. It was easy to get caught up in conversation with Aimme and realize it was a half hour after my shift and Id better get going home. Her kindness and gentle ways will always be remembered.
I pray for her husband, for her children, and for all of her family, as well as her friends. My deepest condolences.
Fly high Aimee

Claire, Marcel & Jason,
We are so sad to hear of Aimee's passing. She will always be in our hearts forever. We remember how wonderful you all were caring for Serena. Serena would get so excited when Aimee would come home after school and play with her. We would hear about all the way home from your house and at dinner time. I happened to find this picture of her from the early 90's when she trained in Jukido. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Robert, Lori and Serena Robert.
