Al was a staple at all our holiday parties bringing his famous Mexican dishes, dancing, singing and lighting up our home with his jokes and his beautiful smile. We had the opportunity to spend time with him in Spain a few years ago. He always enjoyed different cultures. We will miss him terribly. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.

I worked with Al at DBM in West Hartford. I was fortunate enough to have an office adjoining his, so was dazzled daily by his humor & wit. He was a good hearted man who left a legacy of integrity for which his family can be proud. Heartfelt sympathy to his family & loved ones! Sincerely, Linda Leslie

I loved that when we hugged and I made him laugh his belly would jiggle. I'd tease him that he was Santa and that would make him laugh even more. I loved that I could make him laugh so easily.
Once, when I was driving back to his apartment in West Hartford from upstate NY I got a stomach virus. I kept driving but was really so sick, so I called him from the road and he guided me all the way home (2.5 hours!). As soon as I arrived he had a hot water bottle waiting for me and helped me make it to my room, where I slept for hours knowing that I was safe. He always made me feel safe. I will miss him, and have missed him, very much.
Thank you for everything, Alberto. I love you.

Deepest sympathy to you all. I'll always remember the kindness your dad showed the new family on deepwood when we moved there. I still remember our first winter when we lost power for a few days and your dad showed up with firewood.
