FOURNIER, Alexander "Alex" James
Alexander "Alex" James Fournier, 14, of Burlington, passed away suddenly on Monday, (October 14, 2013). Born May 19, 1999 in Bristol, he was the son of Brandi Lynn (Carey) Byrne and Raymond Claude Fournier, III. Alex was a freshman at Oliver Wolcott Tech, aspiring to study electrical. An inquisitive teenager, he was an avid reader and enjoyed watching TV shows such as "How It's Made", "The Walking Dead", "Duck Dynasty", and looked forward to "Shark Week" every year. He also enjoyed riding go-carts, playing paintball, fishing and playing video games with his friends. He was also active in bowling and competed in and won several tournaments. He was great with children and loved animals. Out of all of his accomplishments, he was most proud of being a big brother. When you remember him, remember his big heart, his funny ways, his big blue eyes, and of course his beautiful smile. He leaves his mother Brandi Byrne and her husband Christopher Byrne, Sr.; his father Raymond Claude Fournier, III; his siblings Cassidy Fournier, 7, Cameron Fournier, 3, and Christopher Byrne, Jr., 1 year old; his grandparents, Donna and Al Madeley, John and Janet Carey, Mary Michalczyk, Ray Fournier, Jr., Cheryl and Kenneth Byrne, Sr.; great-grandparents, Bill and Joan Markovich, Francine Carey, Marion P. Fournier, Catherine Vanden Heuvel, John and Josephine Kilduff; along with many others that were so special to him, including numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, his godparents, and his special group of buddies. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother Janice "Nini" Solek; and great-grandfathers, Raymond C. Fournier and John C. Vanden Heuvel.
Friends and family are welcome to gather at O'Brien Funeral Home,24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville, for calling hours on Saturday, October 19, 2013, from 2-6 p.m. A service will follow at O'Brien at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to "The Alexander Fournier Memorial Fund" at First Bristol Federal Credit Union, PO Box 698, Bristol, CT 06010. I feel lucky to have gone to middle school with Alex, I'm so sorry for your loss. I will remember the memories i had with him in gym class! He is in my prayers..
